John Eastman won 2nd place in the Novice Men's Division during the 2008 Annual Granite State Open Bodybuilding Championship and Figure Competition, which was held on Saturday, October 25th at Dover High School in Dover, NH. There were 18 competitors in the Novice Division.

John, age 42, is the owner/operator of Eastman's Fitness, 6 Main Street, Leominster, MA where he has been in training for this competition during the past year. He is a lifetime, drug-free bodybuilder and is a strong advocate of drug testing. John is a resident of Clinton, MA.

John Eastman Competing

This was John's first competition. He was encouraged to participate in the GSO competition by his friend and mentor, Martin Ortiz of Worcester, MA. Martin, a lifetime, drug-free bodybuilder, won the Men's Middleweight Division and the Men’s Master Division 35+, culminating in his winning the Mr. Granite State Open Overall title. Thus, Mr. Ortiz is now qualified to compete as a professional bodybuilder.
All participants were polygraph tested for drugs by a Massachusetts State Trooper.

The Granite State Open is produced by L. J. Turtle Promotions and sanctioned by the National Gym Association.
